DIY Self-Tanner

Who knew the day would come that we have our first relavant post! Okay, so the first DIY project that we tried was a "self tanner." I came accross this DIY project about two months ago while I was surfing Pinterest. Reading through it, it seemed too good to be true. So, Tiny (that's my sister's nickname) and I decided to try it out. Let's see how it went!

To begin with, we need a couple things to achieve our glorious sun-kissed skin tone:

4 black tea bags
2 cups boiling water
Sponge or spray bottle
Cocoa powder
Body lotion

(This is going to be fun!) I chose to try to tan my legs. Here are my legs before the miraculous tan:

Don't judge! I'm pale!

The instructions are as follows:

1. Heat the two cups of water until it begins to boil. As soon as the water begins to boil, add the four tea bags, and let them sit for around 10 minutes.

2. Pour the tea into the spray bottle or soak the tea up with a sponge. If using the tea soaked sponge, pat the sponge all over the desired tan-to-be area. My sister and I chose to use the spray bottle for even coverage. I stood in the bathtub (to avoid making too much of a mess) while my sister sprayed the tea on my legs. (Girls-or guys-who attempt this tanning method should have clean legs. And girls, please, shave. We are not barbarians). Here are my legs with tea coat number one:

No difference...

Here is tea coat number two:

Again, no change.

Tea coat three?:

No change yet again. Though, in this picture you can clearly see my bruised right knee haha.

3. Next, mix cocoa into your lotion of choice to create a tinted color.

4. Rub it into your legs like your life depends on it!:

(I smelled really good wearing that cocoa lotion.) My sister and I virtually saw no difference in the complexion of my legs; however, when I went to drama an hour later, one of my friends remarked that my legs looked tan. Tiny and I still label this DIY as a:
